Parts Clerk

Our company has an outstanding opportunity for a results-focused Parts Counter Advisor/Driver.  This is an entry-level position with the opportunity to learn and move up within the company. This position will run-parts to different departments for internal customers and external customers. The primary goal is to provide superior customer service. The Parts Counter Advisor/Driver will also keep Parts Department clean and organized.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide courteous and efficient service to technicians; retail, and wholesale customers, and other departments.
  • Assist with maintaining files/records so they remain updated and easily accessible.
  • Keep parts inventory organized and on the shelves.
  • When instructed by the Manager, the clerk may be asked to prepare special orders by providing necessary information and process these orders in a timely manner.
  • Answer the telephone in accordance with department guidelines.  Take messages or redirecting calls to appropriate teammates.
  • Report to Parts Manager any inability to fill parts requests from service, wholesale and retail customers.
  • Deliver Parts to wholesale customers, off-site deliveries using company vehicle.
  • Checking in daily orders from manufacturer and outside vendors.
  • Maintain a professional attitude with all customers and interdepartmental employees.
  • Participate in annual parts physical inventory process.
  • Participate in departmental meetings.
  • Maintain an exceptionally clean and organized work area
  • Other duties assigned by the Parts Manager

 Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions 
  • Ability to effectively present information to employees either in writing or on the telephone
  • Organization skills are highly recommended for this position
  • Great communication
  • One year of experience in an automotive parts department is a plus
  • Professional personal appearance
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Clean background
  • Drug-Free environment

 Working Conditions:

  • Position requires physical output. Some reaching and climbing will be required when accessing parts from inventory; this requires maneuverability.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires standing for up to 6 - 8 hours a day
  • Exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials in the course of the day

Requirements

  • Must be detail-oriented and exceed in great customer service
  • Must pass a background check

  • Valid Drivers Licenses, without restrictions or points that would prevent insurablabilty on company policy.
