Accounting Clerk - Full-Time Automotive

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for multiple duties within the office and the understanding that being cross-trained in different positions is beneficial to the success of the office as a whole.

Essential Duties:

  • Processes Journal Entries and Adjustments
  • Correct, process and reconcile a wide variety of accounting documents such as invoices, departmental billings, employee reimbursements, cash receipts, vendor statements, and journal vouchers
  • Review financial information; prepare and process documents to disburse funds
  • Make deposits and prepare reports; compile and review information for accuracy; and maintain records
  • Prepare deposits and reports; compile and review information for accuracy, and maintain records
  • File all accounting correspondence in proper files in a timely manner
  • Review schedules with manager monthly
  • Create efficient changes to the policy
  • Work is performed by applying knowledge of accounting terminology and using spreadsheets and/or automated accounting systems
  • Train and serve as back-up and support to All Accounting Positions in Department
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting or relevant training is required
  • Speak clearly on the phone and project professionalism and competence to all callers.
  • Basic mathematical aptitude
  • Self-motivated, able to effectively prioritize tasks 
  • Capability to thrive in a consistently busy environment
  • The ability to adapt and manage changing priorities in job responsibilities
  • Ability to evaluate, draw conclusions, and solve problems using subjective or objective information, knowledge, and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Will be trained on the dealership’s computer system, experience using CDK a plus

Working Conditions:

Will perform the majority of the shift at a desk in an office setting. Ability to climb the stairs in order to access the Accounting office.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED, some college, 1 to 3 years of accounting experience and/or training; Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

Compensation:

Compensation is determined by experience. The stated hourly rate is negotiable and not fixed based on the candidate's experience.
