Tag & Title Clerk
The Title Clerk is responsible for reviewing new and used car vehicle sales. S/he is responsible for managing titles and certificates of origin for all stock units as well as making sure that all liens and titles are properly recorded in accordance with the sale documentation.
Job Responsibilities
Reviews tax and title documents.
Reviews sales documents such as sales contract, customer credit applications, odometer forms, bills of sale, reports of sale, and powers of attorney to insure completeness and legibility.
Prepares trade-in stock jackets.
Process all Title/Registration documents in a timely manner. Ensure that all monies are received and personal checks are cleared before title work is submitted.
Receive authorization for any write-offs or adjustments to cost or expense accounts from proper management.
Reconcile all schedules that pertain to vehicle accounting at end of month.
Submit all legal transfer documents to the DMV.
Within 30 days from delivery, complete the title work on each vehicle sold.
A trade-in vehicle must have the following information included in the used vehicle jacket: title, lien release, copy of registration or powers of attorney, and odometer statement.
Correct problems and rejects from counties and state as quickly as possible.
Handle all inquiries regarding tag and title from customers and salespeople.
Manages additions to and payoffs from floor plan on a daily basis.
MV bundle transmittals, fee, forms, regulations, electronic titling.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED; 1 to 2 years of automotive dealership or automotive titling experience; Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Must be familiar with Microsoft products: excel and word
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (Including Driver's License)
Obtaining Notary Bond within 6 months of hire will be expected.
